Upgrade Ubuntu

Aku memang dah lama nak upgrade versi Ubuntu dari 8.04 ke 8.10, tapi wireless aku buat hal. Jadi, untuk selesaikan masalah upgrade, aku download alternate iso.

Aku tak nak bazirkan CD, jadi aku ikut saja arahan di bawah.






Bersihkan apa yang patut.


Restart dulu, baru OK.

Having problem with Microsoft Office's files?

One good reason to use Ubuntu is that it comes with OpenOffice.

If you're using Microsoft Office 2003, but want to read files created by Microsoft Office 2007, you need to install Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats before you could view the files, since the format is different.

It could cause inconvenience, especially if you don't have an internet connection.

But if you're using OpenOffice, doesn't matter if it's MS Office 2003 or 2007 files, it won't be a problem.

nueq pun sekarang dah minat nak install ubuntu dalam notebook. takkan nak ketinggalan kan? ndak jugak aku bermain-main dgn mende nih. jgn terkong nb aku udah... he he.. sifu ubuntu 3f gom tgh assist. i'll keep u updated. marilah beramai-ramai mengubah OS anda... he he..

Ubuntu upgraded

Yes, I've upgraded the Ubuntu already! From 7.10 to 8.04 LTS. I don't know what to suggest you if you're interested to do the upgrading. I can't really say, which is faster.

It's either downloading the whole new edition, then prepare for fresh installation. Or do the upgrading via Terminal or Update Manager . The upgrade seems to fetch a hell lot of files. Took about 2 - 3 hours to finish downloading, depending on your internet connection.

Cool features

Thanks to Ubuntu Newbie Malaysia, I now have a transparent terminal.



And to take a screenshot is so easy. You just have to press 'Print Screen' and the image will automatically ready to be saved. You don't even have to open any image editor, to paste and save the screenshot.



This is what happen when I'm bored. Ha ha!

Ubuntu on Dell Latitude D630

I've installed Ubuntu on my Dell Latitude D630.



Clean, ya? It's cool, beb! Unfortunately, I'm having problem with my sound. Still couldn't figure out how to solve it, yet.



Hah! It seems like many people who're using Dell Latitude D630 is having the same problem as mine. Hope the new Ubuntu will solve the problem. 14 more days to go.
